Walking posture and techniques

It is hard to believe but many people do not really know how to use walking as a form of exercise.  For walking to be used as an effective exercise tool, it has to be done correctly.  First of all you must be suitably dressed and wearing the right shoes.  Then you should hold your head straight and upright, shoulder back and walk maintaining pace and posture. Like any form of exercise, you have to gradually pick up the pace and increase the tempo or intensity.   It is simple but many do it incorrectly and then wonder why they are not losing weight or getting fitter.
